since Verizon has nothing for us, once the contract runs out, I was thinking of switching to an MVNO bassed off Verizon's network. this being either Page Plus or Metro PCS. what is you guys opinions of these carriers? both seems to have cheaper plans, are contractless, and offer roaming (most likely on the sprint network.) we never text, never use data, and 700 minutes (Verizon's cheapest plan) is waaaay more than we ever use. we're lucky if we use 300 minutes a month (between 3 people), and if we do want to use a phone, we have two magic jacks, plus a house phone which is unlimited local and long distance on a landline. we all have basic phones too.
In your case and if you don't have to purchase new handsets, that be okay.
You aren't worried about transfer speeds, nor service when you travel, so if this provider works for general calling when needed, why not?
In your case, my goal would be to get calling as cheaply as possible for 3 lines no matter who the provider was.
MVNO's are not good for us. we'd have to p pay for each line sepritly. we're stickin with what we got on Verizon's network.
